What would a 12th house Pluto within 10 degrees on the AC mean?

Hi Liv… With 10° I may not consider it on the ascendant (I would usually consider something within 5° as cusping) but that depends on a number of factors. Having said that, I’ll include it in this little delineation…

And what I love about astrology is that a placement can mean ‘so much’ and that confirms how complex we humans really are… I could spend a lifetime analyzing your chart so what I’m going to do here is just give an example of what it can mean but it’s by far a definitive answer.

The ascendant is related to your appearance, birth, how people see you.  Pluto is a deep and powerful planet that deals with (amongst other things) control, transformation, wealth, death, reproduction, and destruction. Check this out for a pretty good list of keywords for Pluto.

The 12th house is where you can hide information about your nature, where others can hide you away or hide from you.  You may not be comfortable seeing yourself as a powerful person.  It may bother you that you have the power to not only heal (by cutting out what is diseased) but also to destroy (by force) — perhaps burning bridges behind you.

Also having Pluto so close to the ascendant can suggest you have a ‘dark and intense’ look and may have been born under very difficult circumstances — perhaps you also had a close call with dying in childbirth or before birth. So you understand what ‘life and death’ really means and you can project this very strongly without recognizing it.

My Moon in Cancer is in 12th house, conjuncting South Node (exact), and also oppositioning Uranus and Neptune (opposition to Uranus is also exact). My Chiron conjuncts my Ascendant. Am I on some kind of special mission in this life?

The 12th is a karmic house, a house of secrets, hidden things, spirituality, pre-natal, endings but also new beginnings. The South Node is about the past, what you bring to your current life, that also need to be balanced with new directions, and in your case your new direction is Capricorn. The Moon is domicile in Cancer and it reflects food, memories, holding on to the past, mothering. So your North Node is conjunct Uranus and Neptune in the 6th house?  Do you get sudden insights into why you get ill?  Are you able to imagine an ideal day that helps others achieve their dreams?  In regards to Chiron, did you suffer any kind of wound of your heart, hair, or confidence? To people see this even if you don’t?

As usual, I would need to see the WHOLE chart set up in the way I set up an astrology consultation.  I’ll tell you that EVERYONE is on a special kind of mission.  It’s all about difference and intensity.  What do you think you are here to accomplish in this lifetime?

Do you have ‘short hair’ or difficulty in growing your hair?

 Yes, my hair is definitely the weakest part of me. It’s soft and  gets ragged easily. But I do like taking care of it and I wear it as long as possible. There’ve also been heart and confidence wounds, but I learned to get over it, I’m quite philosophical about life and don’t take anything tragically, I always look for the bright side and just accept things the way they are, I’m open-minded, so I can’t stand for long situations or people that hurt me and just move on hoping there are other who will appreciate me as much as I appreciate them. I can say my mother actually killed my confidence when I was little, and wasn’t there for me to listen or give some advice when I needed it most (and it was really, really tough if you notice Saturn transiting my Moon and Asc since I was 12 years old to 15 or 16 years old, and I’m way too sensitive and emotional for her), or at least that’s how I see it. But I don’t blame her, it’s just the way things must go, it’s part of my destiny and if it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t be what I am, I wouldn’t be this chart I posted. I also agree with what you wrote about my 6th house.
But there’s something strange, somehow I had so much good luck in life that it just isn’t fair. I really feel I have some protection from up there… It’s hard to explain, but I do believe good things come back to you if you think positively and caring about others as much as you care about yourself.
I’d also like to share my knowledge about South Node conjuncting planets; the house which the planet rules, can be house of some loss – for example, Cliff Burton’s South Node conjuncts his Jupiter and Venus. While Jupiter is ruler of his 3rd house, and Venus of his 8th house, he died when bus skidded off the road. And there are too many examples – Lady D for start. One famous scientist and my uncle both have South Node conjunct their 7th house ruler – neither one of them got married.
So I’m quite scared how this position of Nodes will affect me?

I have heard how the South Node in a solar return or solar arc chart, can indicate ‘endings’.  And the SN is traditionally considered Gemini, which is the third house (next to a house that is considered one of ‘endings’, the fourth).

When you mentioned the SN aspects of Cliff Burton and Lady Di, are you referring to personal transits?

The SN is the past, your inherent talents, what you know very well, and are familiar with.  When it shows up prominently in a solar return chart, such as Sun Conjunct SN in the 4th, 8th, or 12th house it ‘could’ mean going back to the ‘source’, your last life, or transitioning your life to a past experience… so many possibilities actually.

As a living and breathing aspect in a natal chart, it doesn’t mean the exact same thing.  We will all die at some point and an aspect in a natal chart is just an indication of what you are doing in your life.  Information in the chart may point to how, when, and why you’ll die but it really needs to be combined with another chart or information such as progressions, personal transits, SA, or SR.  Death information is ‘occult’ — very ‘hidden’ and that makes sense.

Keywords for Moon Conjunct SN: Emotions are familiar.  You may have emotional patterns that repeat themselves that cause you to revert or recede into solitude.

Thanks for sharing your birth chart.  Since I’m a practicing astrologer, I have made it a point not to read charts ‘on the fly’  since I want to be thorough and put a lot of effort into it.  Casual insights expressed in this blog only scratch the surface — we humans are complicated animals and it takes me many hours and many sessions to completely work through a chart even when answering what seems to be a simple question… there’s just so many dots to connect (and I <3 that about astrology!!).

However, maybe someone else will come along who has the time and interest to offer additional insights.

So yeah, there's nothing to be scared about your Moon Conjunct South Node; however, working with a therapist or therapeutic Astrologer (like myself) would useful for you.
