Venus Rx Retrograde in Capricorn

December 21, 2013 — just in time for Christmas.

Shadow: Nov 20, 2013
Rx: Dec 21, 2013 @ 28° Capricorn
Direct: January 31, 2014 @13° Capricorn
Shadow Over: March 4, 2014

This cosmic event is ushered in with the hour of Venus, day of Saturn (ruled by Capricorn). She turns retrograde at 4:53pm on the back swing with Mercury’s wings at 4:53pm EST. Mercury semi-sextile Venus (yup, makes sense!).

About Venus

  • mayan_venus_star_11

Venus rules Taurus, and Libra. Rules the 2nd and 7th house.

  • Venus’ domain are the arts, love, sensuality, beauty, jewelry (pearls), mirrors, women, femininity, gardening, money and finances, tending to one’s growth, relationships, contracts (love & money, for example), copper (see color of Venus, above), birth & death, sweets.
  • Venus was a very important (most?) planet for the Mayans. It told them when to go to war! Afterall, the opposite of Taurus, is Scorpio (co-ruled by Mars). And Libra, is Aries (ruled by Mars).

 About Capricorn

  • Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. Some Capricorn keywords: Serious, ambitious, old, business, acquisition, steady, solid, appropriate, responsible, career minded, value, etc

About Venus Capricorn & Venus aspecting Saturn

  • Corporate art
  • Love of work

About Retrogrades

When you think about how this cosmic event affects you, add “re” to every action you consider taking: reflect, rejuvenate, reignite, renew, recycle, repeat, redo, resolve, research, review, etc.

With the Rx (℞), you may also want to reconsider any prescriptions for physical, spiritual, financial, or mental health that relate to your love, relationships, money, beauty, etc during this Venus Rx.

You’ll also hop on the mental time machine — taking a trip back to get things finished up or sorted out, that were left behind as it relates to Capricorn themes. Expect to initiate, and possibly enjoy some closure.

Transits

venus_retrograde_rx_astrology_transit_capricornMundane Transits

Venus Rx Capricorn is applying to a non-perfected conjunction to Pluto. Venus Conjunct Pluto. Whoever obsessed just prior to and somewhat during  November 21 — will begin to be obsessed about. Turn about, is fair play. Those with Venus and Pluto aspected, are more prone to experience this non-personal (mundane) transit more personally.

A romance right before the shadow period, may not last. But one that starts during it, could.

Personal Transits

This Venus transit, may cause Love challenges for anyone with Saturn Cancer (Venus Opposition Saturn), Saturn Libra, or Saturn Aries (Venus Square Saturn).

Saturn Libra natives are really getting hit (2011 Saturn was in Libra).

This Venus transit, may cause Love bonuses for anyone who has Earth or Water planets or on your angles. You may trine or sextile this Venus Rx, harmoniously. You’ll be in for a ride, and hopefully some good loving, beauty redux, art, and money making merriment!

What to do during this Venus Rx transit

  • Review your love life, and what’s important to you.
  • Sometimes this transit accompanies pain for a love lost.
  • Reach out to a lover, friends, and crushes (past, or present), or welcome being reached out to.
  • Reconsider an old relationship but don’t start a brand new one, or it might be over once Venus goes direct.
  • Alternatively, if a new relationship begins and doesn’t end — it will be likely enduring.
  • Try not to make a decision about your relationship, or lover until AFTER the transit is over. This is a time of reflection, not decision making. You may change your mind later.
  • Any exes coming back, may leave — just as quickly, if they are not of value. Fruitless relationships are going to go bye-bye. Also because Capricorn is a cardinal sign — this is about new beginnings & fresh starts.
  • Write a list of qualities you want in a mate. What you’re willing to tolerate, and not tolerate.
  • Write love letters to your exes, and put them to rest.
  • Do you really value that friend, or foe? If not, kick ’em to the curb.
  • Avoid new beauty treatments, or changes in style. However, go over any beauty treatments that didn’t go well in the past. If any new beauty treatments are given — they could change your look for a long time to come.
  • Say, “I love you” to someone. Especially someone you’ve been with for awhile, or who is older.
  • Get your finances in order. Go back over your budget. Look at how to increase your wealth.
  • Go to an art gallery. If you’re creative, artistic, or crafty — you’ve probably in a slump for awhile. This is your chance to get your mojo back.

Synastry & Natal: The Romeo & Juliet Aspect – Venus Square Saturn in LOVE – Part One

    The Romeo and Juliet Aspect

♀ ☐ ♄ I can’t have the love that I want.  The love I don’t want, I want.  I want to love.  I don’t want the love I can have.  I don’t want to love.  This love isn’t for me.  Eventually, I might give my love.  Love comes with hoops and hurdles. I feel unloved. An itch you can’t scratch.

Venus Square Saturn is an astrological aspect that can show in a natal birth chart or it can be a combined energy that occurs between the native and another or others.

This aspect gives a cold chill, when faced with love, to the native or relationship and any harmonious compatibility that may be present just adds to the chill factor. Because if there are other aspects in the chart that cause hot chemistry, the native or natives are more likely to not want to get involved and open up to what is perceived as a Pandora’s Box.  In fact, sabotage becomes almost a sure thing. A dampening after a quickening of love feelings is what often happens.  Excuses will be made, and delays will almost seem as if on purpose. This aspect pushes more than it pulls. Love doesn’t seem to be on the radar of the native or the individual(s) and more than anything it’s because of fear.  This aspect feels like winter or ice, Venus Capricorn or Aquarius, and Saturn Libra.

    Natal Venus Square Saturn

    1. Not feeling that love is for you to have.
    2. Not getting physical and enjoying the pleasures of the body.
    3. Feeling too old, serious, full of responsibilities, or fear to be in-love
    4. A late bloomer in love, romance, and relationships.
    5. Not ready for the responsibility of loving another or love is taken very seriously
    6. Doesn’t enter into a relationship lightly or leave relationships easily
    7. Denying self of love.  Self-love denial.
    8. Wants to make sure one’s love is for REAL!  Not trusting love. And the tendency not to want to explore it.
    9. When someone is interested in you, you turn them away.  They can’t possibly love you!
    10. Being  unfriendly and hard on yourself or those that you want to love.
    11. Not allowing art and beauty into your life.  Restricting buying “frivolous” things that beautify, if it’s not practical.
    12. Not being “attractive”.  Not because you are not, but because there’s not a genuine focus on a vibrant approach.
    13. Stalking or watching persons of interest from afar but not letting them know you are doing it or are interested.
    14. Loving from afar…. bittersweet and silent romance.
    15. Not wanting to limit yourself to just one romance or love relationship, especially in case it’s not the right one or won’t be the one to bring a sense of complete love for the long haul.

    Synastry Venus Square Saturn

    1. Something keeps you away from being with each other or allowing love to develop.
    2. Marriage, divorce, separation, children, relationship, busy career, unaccepted different culture or ethnic group, unaccepted different religion or sexual preference, greatly differing values, going to different schools or living a great distance (different countries) from each other are some reasons why the relationship will not thrive.
    3. Untouchable…. she or he is so high “above” or “below” me.
    4. Wanting the one who plays in the relationship, to work.
    5. Wanting the one who works in the relationship, to play.
    6. Feeling like a parent or a child.
    7. Having your love bubble burst or alternatively, feeling a love burden.
    8. Thinking one of you is not seeing the reality of the relationship.
    9. Thinking one of you is not open to love in the relationship.
    10. Getting the feeling that you could almost be together in-love but something always stops one or both of you.
    11. Longevity of love:  Over a long period of time, somehow running back into each other but not taking it all the way to something of substance.
    12. Continuing to maintain the look and feel of a connection when no serious attempt will be made to make it physical.
    13. Having a long distance relationship.  Being always away from each other.
    14. Having a sizable age difference i.e. 7-14 years — if not by chronology than by maturity or experience.
    15. Testing each others patience in love.
    16. One or both of you not wanting to limit the love given to others therefore creating a possible ‘adulterous’ affair.

    Mini Brainstorm

Fear of love.  Restricting love causes obstacles in having a relationship get off the ground. Being hard in love.  Hard on your love. Disciplined love creates conflicts.  Detaching affection when stressed.  Inhibited from loving another co-cooperatively.  Testing lovers, delays a relationship.  Adjustments in serious love are important to make.  Fear of a relationship creates a block. Frustration over a love that can’t be had due to formal obligations or financial restrictions.

    Venus

(Taurus, Libra) Love, affection, art, balance, sensuality, beauty, softness, receptivity, femininity, passivity, happiness, feminine, peace, contentment, nature, earthly pleasures, money, possessions, idealizing, brown & pink, tradition, co-operation, indulgence, service, devoted, the muse, kindness, compassion

    Square

(Saturn) = Challenged, blocked, tension, discomfort, conflict, needed adjustments, stubborn, irregular, hang-up, restrain, restrict, shut-off, obstruct, thwart, pressure, stress, struggle, testing, delay; inhibitions, disruption, limitations, and inner conflict (Wikipedia); WizardsNet adds crisis, difficult to integrate. Astrology3D says struggle of two forces at cross-purposes. Obstacles which can bring growth through concentrated effort. Acts like Saturn

    Saturn

(Capricorn, Aquarius) = Fear, restriction, discipline, karma, tests, limitations, passive, withdrawn, introverted, more feminine than masculine.

Happiness hit her like a train on a track
Coming towards her stuck still no turning back

    Thomas Dybdahl – Love Story

    honey i told you
    that these things never last
and one of these days now
you`ll start dreaming of the past

when life was once too short for all the things we`d do and the shots we`d call
and endless summer without a fall
when promises were meant to keep
and nighttime wasn`t meant for sleep
a love story at it`s peak

    doesn`t it feel good
to know that you`ve been loved
    and doesn`t it make you
    laugh when you think of

the day when we all got lost on the old mans farm
    just trying to get across
it was only then i knew what love was
sunday mornings that never ended and hangovers that never mended
a love story at it`s peak

Thomas Dybdahl – It’s Always Been You

you wake up in a pool of your own selfpity
you try hard to lose whatever dignity she`s left you with
but maybe it`s time to realise that you`re stained but not weak,
calm but not sleak, she`s out of your league
    it`s always been you

speak out your name and try to hold a thought for one damn minute
you told me yourself you`d all appreciate a man of thought

Natal & Synastry Astrology: The Magical Sex Aspect – Mars Square Neptune in Sex & Love – Part One

♂ ☐ ♆  I want the spiritual sex I’m forbidden to have.  My sexual power is held back and exists in my dreams. I am not telling others what I want.  I attempt to act on my dreams but it ends up being a fantasy.  Sexual fantasies are aggressive.  I’m sexually confused and frustrated.  I’m creating an illusion of what my intentions are.

Mars Square Neptune is an astrological aspect that can show in a natal birth chart or it can be a combined energy that occurs between the native and another or others (synastry or compatibility chart).

This aspect gives a hot tension and confusion vibe, when faced with sex and actions taken, to the native or relationship and any obstruction that keeps one away from one’s desires will add to the tension.  Largely a lack of self-understanding, of how one’s actions and desires affects self and others negatively, causes frustration, tension, and delays in getting one’s needs met Not taking responsibility for self or other even after the native / natives have been alerted to the problem, further causes problems.  Denial of actions and sexual desires is common-place.  The native or natives can lie to themselves or to each other — believing in what they want to believe – so they end up lying even if that’s not the intention.  This aspect feels like fall, Mars Pisces and Neptune Aries /Scorpio.

      Natal Mars Square Neptune

      1. Imagining sex that’s not likely to happen.
      2. Knowing that others don’t know what has hit them until it’s too late.
      3. Having aggressive or domination / submission sexual fantasies.  Denying sexual interests.
      4. Imaging what you will do but then never getting around to doing it.
      5. Wanting to do something that is, in reality, impossible but doing it anyway.  Where there’s a will, there’s a way.  Still the outcome is not exactly what was expected and disappointment and guilt can set.  Making faulty decisions due to not thinking things through.  i.e. unplanned or poorly choosen pregnancy
      6. Wanting to cheat on your partner but rarely (if ever) actually doing it.
      7. Sexual confusion.  Uncertain of which sex attracts most.
      8. Feeling confused about psychic phenomena and how energetic connections with others work or if they are real.
      9. Knowing that a connection can be manipulated by self or other for unsaid or unknown purposes.
      10. Pretending or wanting to show interest where there is none.
      11. Invading or having your sexual privacy and rights invaded.
      12. Being afraid to ask for sex in a direct way.  Passive-aggressive advances.
      13. Attractions to movie stars, celebrities, clergy, gurus, prostitutes, mysterious and dangerous people, and so-on.

      Synastry Mars Square Neptune

      1. Sensing that something isn’t quite right in your relationship.  That there are ulterior motives.
      2. Feeling as if spiritual sex is an illusion that can’t be realized.
      3. Trust issues:  Not everything is said about what is wanted to be done.  Hiding the truth.
      4. Sexual deception.  Pretending to be sexually interested.  Sexual flirting doesn’t go anywhere.
      5. Skeptical that the relationship is real.  Feeling as if you may be deceived.
      6. Misreading the signals your person-of-interest gives you.
      7. Experience intense orgasm at a distance yet rarely in the presence of the lover.
      8. Doing a sexual activity that you didn’t want to have or agree to but not saying anything about it.
      9. A dangerous and unacceptable attraction with power imbalances.
      10. Using drugs to make your sex life into something it normally isn’t. (Viagra, Ecstasy, etc…)
      11. Dreaming your person of interest is the best sexual partner ever even though you have never had sex or intimate relations.
      12. Feeling jealous and possessive due to vagueness.
      13. Irresponsible impulses hurt those who do not know what’s happening. Not using protection, cheating, not advising of STD’s, etc.

      Mini Brainstorm

Sexual dreams are blocked. Powerful actions are not taken responsibly. Sexual pictures cause discomfort. Psychic attacks disrupt.  Magical action (magician) is delayed.  Spiritual sex (guru) is restricted.  Deceptive action (spy) challenged.  Base desires thwart spiritual understanding.

      Mars

(Aries, Scorpio) = Aggression, sexuality, power, action, assertiveness, strategist, me first, innovation, activity, movement, courage, fighter, war-like, extroverted, more masculine than feminine.

      Square

(Saturn) = Challenged, blocked, tension, discomfort, conflict, needed adjustments, stubborn, irregular, hang-up, restrain, restrict, shut-off, obstruct, thwart, pressure, stress, struggle, testing, delay; inhibitions, disruption, limitations, and inner conflict. Acts like Saturn. Others say: Wikipedia and WizardsNet adds crisis, difficult to integrate. Astrology3D says struggle of two forces at cross-purposes. Obstacles which can bring growth through concentrated effort.

      The strangest things can happen
The way that you react to me
I wanna do something you can’t imagine
Imagine if there was a million me’s
Talking sexy to you like that
You think you can handle, boy
If I give you my squeeze
And I need you to push it right back

      Baby, show me, show me
What’s your favorite trick that you wanna use on me
      And I’ll volunteer
And I’ll be flowing and going
      Till clothing disappears
Ain’t nothing but shoes on me
      Oh, baby

      (Ciara and Justin)
All night, show it, just you and the crowd
      Doing tricks you never seen
And I bet that I can make you believe
In love and sex and magic
So let me drive my body around you
I bet you know what I mean
Cause you know that I can make you believe
In love and sex and magic

But now it’s my turn to watch you
I ain’t gonna stop you if you wanna crowd my neck
Talk sexy to me like that

Natal & Synastry Astrology: The Solution to Venus Square Saturn in Love – Part Two

The Venus Square Saturn Solution, Part Two

Part One of Venus Square Saturn

As I wrote this, I realize I know a lot of people with Venus Square Saturn natally and a lot of my  synastry (compatibility) with others causes one or both of us to have a hard Venus-Saturn aspect.  I wasn’t happy to write this since I’m such a Venusian and I believe restricting oneself from love is harmful to self and other.   So I felt sad. 🙁 I have Venus Trine Saturn natally and I have a tendency to stay in and attract long-term connections even when no physical connection is present.  Anyway, I”m going to tell you how I think you can help yourself or someone else get in touch with love.  For now, this is what it looks like…

        The Lesson

The lesson of Venus Square Saturn is to be responsible, discipline enthusiasm, yet care about the feelings of others and yourself. Let the love grow slowly and deeply yet nurture it all the same.  Love, being in-love, and first love feelings can be delicious; however, if your or the other person’s heart is not open to love, it won’t happen or it will happen with a lot of tension.   Everything must come from a mature stateAvoid getting wrapped up in fears, restrictions, and responsibilities.  Explore challenges and don’t give up on the love no matter how challenging it appears.  Learn to adjust expectations and be prepared to love differently.

        Natal

My solution for the natal manifestation of this aspect is for the native to be aware of the tendency to sabotage being in and finding love and to learn how to not withhold love from self or other, to balance the need for wanting to do the right thing with doing something that soothes and softens the spirit.  To be sure to let others know your fears but to also be willing to do something about it. To not just lean on the other to solve the problem.  Or perhaps just enjoy being single – it’s okay, really.

The native with Venus square Saturn is trustworthy and will not enter a relationship they don’t plan on staying in.  This makes for a loyal and trusted companion.  However, having Venus Square Saturn can keep a native from having a complete and happy love- life that glitters with gold because it wants the gold from the start and love takes time to develop and sometimes, yes, it does end and the investment in the person is lost but not in yourself and your development.  You get to keep that!  The Square aspects ask you to keep it real but it still wants you to explore.

        Synastry

Synastry-wise, if a couple is lucky or bold enough to get their relationship off the ground, ideally they will keep in mind the need for one or both parties to be responsible and remain true to their commitments and duties that society deems necessary, to not belittle their need and desire to get stuff done even in the face of a budding romance because life is full of tasks and duties irrespective of love feelings.  To help your lover accomplish their tasks and responsibilities so a path of love can be created. This aspect works well with couples who are not in a hurry or rush to materialize a relationship or encounter as it could take some time to get it off the ground in the first place.  Patience, my friends. Beautiful and enduring friendships are often the result of Venus Square Saturn when one or both natives do not have romantic chemistry or can not / do not want to leave or adjust their societal commitments.

Now lets take a step back…  Venus is most at home with Taurus Trining Saturn’s Capricorn.  Libra (Venus) squares off with Capricorn (Saturn). Both Venus and Saturn here want their own way and they don’t want to understand each other. Venus says:  How can you NOT love me?  I’m beautiful, sweet, a piece of heaven and Saturn just looks at Venus and says:  You are vain, impractical, superficial, and don’t understand that money or love doesn’t grow on trees.   Yet when the sensual and practical Taurus Venus is channeled, a Venus Square Saturn contact can be rewarding if a) both parties or the native understand that practical things need to be taken care of first before love can bloom and to get on with it b) the couple /native ensures that the relationship or love life gets a dose of sugar too now and then.

Finally serious love are key working concepts when loving and being loved with the Venus Square Saturn energy.  Therefore, ensuring there’s a feeling of commitment, before and during the inevitable fears, is essential for happiness and staving off the desire to parent, scold the partner for not wanting to focus on either the mundane or beautiful aspects of life is important too.  Working and loving, together as a team, when one with the strength nurtures the other with the challenge and vice versa, surely will bring success in the connection.

        Update:  April 8, 2011

Recently, in an astrology group there was talk about Venus-Saturn in hard aspect and a comment was made about “High Expectations”.

I kept thinking about the comment about “high expectations” because I was talking about this theme in my own life for a week or so as it relates to my Neptune Opposition Saturn (synchronicity)… 🙂

Anyway, recently I took this “Narcissism” quiz http://www.0eb.com/ that’s been going around. I scored 12. Anyway, I observed that I had high expectations (entitlement) and a non-existent taking (exploitativeness).

With the quiz results, I confirmed and further discovered that if I take more, my expectations will go down. Why? Because I would have already received my due through taking what I deserved at that time rather than *subconsciously* believe it would somehow come back to me at a later date.

What does this have to do with Venus in hard aspect to Saturn or High Expectations? Well, hubby and I were chatting (we have Mercury Sextile Uranus in synastry — yay!!) about an unrelated aspect and it got me thinking…

Possibly a reason why the native with Venus-Saturn in hard aspect has *high expectations* is that they either “give too much love” or “don’t take / receive any” and maybe vacillate between the two with an opposition.

So if the native would just start TAKING (if they are too Venus) love without thinking they deserve it, are worthy of it, or whatever AND / OR RELEASE (if they are too Saturn) what they give… their *expectations* will lower because they will get their needs for affection and esteem met “then and there” without feeling used or under-appreciated.

What I call “conscious giving and taking” rather than “unconditional love” that we are *told* to do but does not work for everyone because we all have different karma or stuff we are working out.

And that’s one more solution or *strategy* for Venus-Saturn in hard aspect.

Am I ever going to fall-in-love or be with the one I love if I/we have Venus Square Saturn?

While I’m calling the Venus Square Saturn The Romeo & Juliet Aspect for a reason, keep in mind or know that there are other aspects in a chart that can alleviate or neutralize its effect.  Then again there are other aspects that can further weaken this challenging aspect too.  Also there are reasons for this aspect existing in the first place and it’s just a test.  You are meant to jump the hurdle successfully and reap the fruits of your labour.  It’s just that you need to want it and to work for it.  But if you have always sucked or exhausted with studying and failed tests because of that, this aspect isn’t going to be kind to you.

Astrology: The Jucy Method of Aspect Delineation (JMAD) – Introduction to Interpreting Aspects – Step #1

When I told Astrology by Kingsley that I would be calling my method of delineating aspects:  The Jucy Method of Aspect Delineation, he promptly retorted with “The JMAD“! <3

The JMAD is my way of interpreting the essence and influence of an astrological aspect whether that be related to a natal (birth), synastry (compatibility between two or more people), composite (the purpose of the relationship), solar return (month by month predictions for the upcoming year from your birthday on), etc..

Aspect delineation is one small step of many steps to synthesize and interpret a chart or horoscope — chart delineation.  Chart delineation, reading your chart, is different from aspect delineation.

          Step #1

To start delineating know what the planets, signs, houses, and aspects represent and their attributes.

          1. Know and understand astrological aspects.  The aspects are the WHY or rather two or more planets getting together (for or against). This conversation, fight, or love-in, in the sky, is about us and what the big Dudes want us to do.  Aspects also connect two or more planets and tell us a lot about the chemistry created in a person, people, event, and so-on.
          2. Basic delineation: As per reading on Michael Starr’s website, “the planets are WHAT energy needs to be expressed or understood, a psychological function or objective.”  Also, to me, the planets make plans for us to carry out.
          3. Intermediate delineation: As Michael Starr says, “the signs are HOW it manifests as drives or personal style, its method or mode of operation, or strategy. “Also, to me, this is the style or way in which the plans are carried out.  If a sign is in fall of a planet, they might not do a very good job at carrying out the plans of that planet.  However, if the sign is in domicile (at home), it will carry out the plans with ease and great skill.
          4. Advanced delineation:  Again, as Michael Starr says, “the houses are WHERE it manifests as situations or events.  Its area of application, or its terrain.” Also, to me, the houses indicate what area the planet what’s its plans to be carried out.  The houses represents activities and areas of interest.

          Intermediate to Advanced Tip

One of the things I think is important, for any consultant or serious student of astrology to do, is to create their very own book on delineated aspects minus the house and sign as that would likely be too much to tackle in even one lifetime.  Yes, it does take a lot of work and time to create your own list of basic delineated aspects, but it’s well worth it.   I also suggest this to students and professionals of tarot.

Astrology: The Jucy Method of Aspect Delineation (JMAD) – Story Telling & Brainstorming – Step #2

            Intro & Step 1 | 3 | 4

The Jucy Method of Aspect Delineation (JMAD) is my way of interpreting the essence and influence of an astrological aspect whether that be related to a natal (birth), synastry (compatibility between two or more people), composite (the purpose of the relationship), solar return (month by month predictions for the upcoming year from your birthday on), etc..

Aspect delineation is one small step of many steps to synthesize and interpret a chart or horoscope — chart delineation. Chart delineation, reading your chart, is different from aspect delineation.

            Step #2

Delineation of planets aspecting each other is like creating a real-life story or short hand message from an astrological term such as Venus Square Neptune which is the planet Venus in contact with Neptune by way of a square.

            How to do it

The following is a simple way to delineate / read an aspect.

Start with the planet furthest away (from outer to inner planets); then determine the contact /aspect type (i.e. Square); followed by the activated planet (from inner to outer planets). It’s like reading Arabic right to left.

            Example

We will read the meaning behind the term: Venus Square Neptune.

Neptune is furthest away (outer planet) so we will look at that planet first.

Like every word, there is a longer meaning or other words that can be used in its place to get a stronger connection to the words meaning.

Keywords for Neptune –> Dreams, illusions, stupors, letting go, dissolution, disillusionment, disappointment, cheating, idealizing, metaphysical, drunken, magic, thirsty, salt water, spiritual, quietness, enchanting, retreat, spas, trance, chaos, craziness, smoke & mirrors, glamorizing, subconscious, intangible, temptation, sacrifice, martyr, suffering, confusion, emotions, delusions, insincerity, hypnotic, boundless, altered reality, photographic, filmography, subversions, devotion, psychic, fantasy, deception, ghosts, visions, visionary, abstraction, secrets, the hidden, invisible, anesthetics, sponging, abuse, the psyche, alcohol, drugs, running away, disorder, silence, intoxication, unemployment, giving, steamy, blue & green, indulgence, gas, fog, merging, mystery, veil, the divine, addictions, neuroses, drowning, betrayal, evasion, helpless, acceptance, higher states of consciousness, Kundalini, escapism, vulnerability, weakness, transcendence, inspiration, imagination, the muse, hallucination, sleepiness, mysticism, secret society, subtlety, mystical creatures, otherworldly, artistry, acting, make-believe, poison, fakery, colour

Then we look at the Contact Type which is a Square.

Keywords for Square –> Challenged, blocked, tension, discomfort, conflict, needed adjustments, stubborn, irregular, hang-up, restrain, restrict, shut-off, obstruct, thwart, pressure, stress, struggle

Then finally we take a look at Venus, the activated and inner planet.

Keywords for Venus –> Love, affection, art, balance, sensuality, beauty, softness, receptivity, femininity, passivity, happiness, peace, contentment, nature, earthly pleasures, idealizing, brown & pink, tradition, co-operation, indulgence, service, devoted, the muse, kindness, compassion

            Connecting Everything

By choosing a keyword representing each planet and quality of connection (i.e. Square), for Venus Square Neptune we could say it can mean:

            • Fog (Neptune) stresses (square) love (venus). i.e. Not being able to see clearly causes one to be stressed about their love.
            • Dreams (Neptune) challenge (square) beauty (venus). i.e. The ideal beauty in one’s mind is not realized.
            • Deception (Neptune) obstructs (square) happiness (venus).  i.e. Saying things that are untrue does not cause genuine happiness.

            Intermediate to Advanced

When you have the hang of it, it can also be read from left to right; however, the best and most natural way to synthesize is whichever order comes naturally.  Eventually interpreting aspects becomes instantaneous via intuition.

            • Created art (Venus) is not (Square) spiritual (Neptune) enough (Square).
            • Hang-up’s (Square) cause discomfort (Square) and confusion (Neptune) when attempting to be affectionate (Venus).
            • An addiction to drugs (Neptune) is a stubborn (Square) indulgence (Neptune) that causes distress (Square) in friendships and relationships (Venus).

            Intuition

Intuition is a combination of historical (empirical) data, deep and heightened observation and an ability to cut through the thickness of surface reality. Intuition is like a slow motion machine that captures data instantaneously and hits you like a ton of bricks. Intuition is a knowing, a sensing that is beyond the conscious understanding — a gut feeling. Intuition is not pseudo-science.

              Intro & Step 1 | Step 2 | Step 4

The Jucy Method of Aspect Delineation (JMAD) is my way of interpreting the essence and influence of an astrological aspect whether that be related to a natal (birth), synastry (compatibility between two or more people), composite (the purpose of the relationship), solar return (month by month predictions for the upcoming year from your birthday on), etc..

Aspect delineation is one small step of many steps to synthesize and interpret a chart or horoscope — chart delineation. Chart delineation, reading your chart, is different from aspect delineation.

              Step #3

              Co-Rulers

Planets rule one or two signs and in the case of ruling two, one sign is more at home than the other.  In fact, I would say one of the signs are a cherished guest.  All signs have their own home except for two, Virgo and Libra.

If the guest tells the host what to do it’s GAME OVER.  So when delineating decide whether the guest or host is calling the shots.

The JMAD uses the Home / Domicile sign for purposes of initial delineation.

Know and understand the Home signs in each planet.

Table of Home (H) and Guest (G) signs.  Guest means that another planet is a better fit for the secondary sign, if shown.  To me the protoplanet and asteroid, Vesta rules Virgo and Juno rules Libra.

              Sun – Leo (H)

              Moon – Cancer (H)

              Mercury Gemini (H) Virgo (G)

              Venus – Taurus (H) Libra (G)

              Mars – Aries (H) Scorpio (G)

              Jupiter – Sagittarius (H) Pisces (G)

              Saturn – Capricorn (H) Aquarius (G)

              Uranus – Aquarius (H)

              Neptune – Pisces (H)

              Pluto – Scorpio (H)

Astrology: The Jucy Method of Aspect Delineation (JMAD) – Planet / Sign Swap – How to Interpret Aspects – Step #4

                Intro & Step 1 | 2 | 3 | Stay Tuned for Step #5…

The Jucy Method of Aspect Delineation (JMAD) is my way of interpreting the essence and influence of an astrological aspect whether that be related to a natal (birth), synastry (compatibility between two or more people), composite (the purpose of the relationship), solar return (month by month predictions for the upcoming year from your birthday on), etc..

Aspect delineation is one small step of many steps to synthesize and interpret a chart or horoscope — chart delineation. Chart delineation, reading your chart, is different from aspect delineation.

                Step #4

                The JMAD Swap.

First, we go back to Rule #3 to ensure we have an understanding of signs in domicile…

Table of Essential Dignities for signs in Domicile only

                from Wikipedia

                Sign Domicile
                Aries Mars
                Taurus Venus
                Gemini Mercury
                Cancer Moon
                Leo Sun
                Virgo Mercury
                Libra Venus
                Scorpio Pluto, Mars
                Sagittarius Jupiter
                Capricorn Saturn
                Aquarius Uranus, Saturn
                Pisces Neptune, Jupiter

                The Premise

                Second, we look at how The JMAD Swap works for these aspects, as examples:  Moon-Pluto | Sun-Saturn | Mars-Saturn | Mars-Neptune | Moon-Saturn | Venus-Neptune | Mars-Pluto

                Moon-Pluto

Using Moon-Pluto aspecting each other, it basically goes like this: The domicile planet for Pluto is Scorpio and the domicile planet for Moon is Cancer. With The JMAD Swap, the aspect then reads as Moon Scorpio and Pluto Cancer. These two planet/sign combination can be read “alone” or “together” to get an IMMEDIATE feel for the aspect.

The question to ask yourself then becomes: What are the attributes of Moon Scorpio? What are the attributes of Pluto Cancer? Together or separately it will tell you the story of Moon-Pluto…

                Examples…
Moon Scorpio — Hidden emotions. Secret needs. Jealous feelings.
Pluto Cancer — Family power. Destructive family. Compulsive eating.
Together — Destructive family causes hiding of emotions and needs. Food is used as a way to deal with the intense feelings of others wanting to possess self. Food becomes a way to gain back control.

Add a square to Moon-Pluto, get this: Moon Square Pluto — Hidden emotions causes conflict. Add a trine to Moon-Pluto — Hidden emotions expand opportunity.

A Moon Trine Pluto person may gain employment as a therapist because they are able to uncover the emotional depth that clients have buried.

                Breaking Down The Method Further

                Sun-Saturn

Capricorn is ruled by Saturn.  Saturn also rules Aquarius. Leo is ruled by the Sun only.
Swapping or flipping the signs we get: Sun Capricorn or Aquarius and Saturn Leo

This is where traditional vs. modern rulerships enters.
In my opinion, the first sign is more at home than the second sign listed in the table of essential dignities. The FIRST sign listed in the table is the best fit.  And planets for Virgo and Libra have not been found yet.

Since Capricorn is the first listed sign for Saturn, I’ll choose that.
Therefore a Sun-Saturn aspect would have the vibe of Sun Capricorn and Saturn Leo.

A standard remark about Sun-Saturn is depression.  When we use The JMAD Swap method we can get an understanding that the Sun in Capricorn in its shadow side can get a bit gloomy and the joy and warmth of Leo can get restricted by Saturn.

                Mars- Saturn

As discussed in Rule #2, more emphasis can be placed on how the outer planet (or furthest planet) affects the inner planet (or closer planet) when delineating.

Mars is ruled by Aries AND Scorpio, Saturn by Capricorn and Aquarius.  Depending on what is sought:  actions or sex,  decide whether to use Aries or Scorpio or you could use both — whichever resonates more for you. So we could have, for example, Saturn Scorpio and Mars Aquarius or Saturn Aries and Mars Capricorn and both create a “square” vibe

Action & Sex Example #1: Mars Capricorn and Saturn Aries

As per above, Mars-Saturn can mean:

                • Getting things done slowly.
                • Dominating sexually over time.

Action & Sex Example #2: Mars Aquarius and Saturn Scorpio

                • Joking about the lack of information to do one’s job thoroughly.
                • Open minded, through conversation, about sexual tastes.

                Mars-Neptune

Mars is ruled by Aries AND Scorpio, Neptune by Pisces only.  Depending on what is sought:  actions or sex,  decide whether to use Aries or Scorpio or you could use both — whichever resonates more for you.

Action & Sex Example #1: Mars Pisces and Neptune Aries

As per above, Mars-Neptune can mean:

                • Getting things done quickly causes confusion.
                • Confusing self or other in regards to sexual aggression.

Action & Sex Example #2: Mars Pisces and Neptune Scorpio

                • Psychic feeling doesn’t need live action to be taken.
                • Being sexually submissive in a mysterious and unknown environment.

If we add a square in, we might get this for example #2:

                • Psychic feeling inhibits physical action.
                • Being sexually submissive in a mysterious and unknown environment is frustrating.

If we add a trine in, we might get this:

                • Letting psychic feelings get things done for you.
                • Being sexually submissive in a mysterious and unknown environment offers opportunity.

                Mars Square Neptune

This can become: Mars Pisces, Neptune Aries
A few examples of delineating this aspect: magical action (magician), spiritual sex (guru), and deceptive action (spy). There’s many other ways to look at that… just examples…

Add an aspect.  Lets choose the square again.

                Tips

                • Remember, we can meditate, contemplate, or sit with just “one” of the Planets and Signs.  So for a Mars-Saturn aspect, we could look at Mars Capricorn OR Saturn Scorpio to get a feel for a basic Mars-Saturn influence.
                • Regarding the “aspect contact type“: a Square, Opposition, Sesquiquadrate aspect would be a Shadow influence, while a Trine, Sextile could be a Light influence and Conjunct a Neutral influence.
                • Use the shadow traits for disharmonious aspects and light traits for harmonious aspects to get an immediate sense of what the aspect might offer.

What Does An Empty House Indicate? How is an Empty House Read? (Astrology, Zodiac)

                  Inspired by Reader Sophia

What Do Empty Houses in a Horoscope Mean?

What is an empty house?  An empty house generally means there are no planets or nodes in the house.  For some astrologers, it means there are no planets, nodes, asteroids, points, or other celestial bodies in the house.

Having an empty house can indicate that the:

                  1. house themes do not interest the native.
                  2. the native might be directionless as it pertains to house activities.
                  3. house themes are accepted by the native and they are happy with what is there.
                  4. native feels they don’t need to do work on house themes.
                  5. house themes, the native accepts, may not be accepted by those connected with the native in regards to how the native operates around them.
                  6. native has nothing to prove in the areas within the house theme.
                  7. native is satisfied and content and get their needs met through the sign on the cusp.
                  8. native already embodies the fullness and richness of that house.  They already *do* the house well.

                  Empty House Myths

Often there is astrological chat that if someone has an empty 5th house, they won’t or can’t have children or in the case of an empty 7th house — they won’t get married.

                  This is not necessarily true.

This is what an empty 5th house can mean:

                  • the native may not have a drive or overwhelming focus to have children.
                  • the native might be very much a child themselves so they subconsciously choose not to have children of their own

If the empty 5th house native “won’t” have children, it’s often due to choice.  And if the native can’t have children, it’s often due to not feeling as if they can handle it.  Keep in mind, as astrologers, most of us are not trained and certified medical experts and any advice given is always with a spiritual or mental slant.  Natives ought to seek proper medical advice as required, desired.

This is what an empty 7th house can mean:

                  • the native is easy-going with any rules of relationship their partner may devise.  In other words, they are flexible in serious relationships.
                  • they can get into or stay out of relationships.  It’s a choice whether they commit or not.  There’s no overwhelming desire to partner.

Many empty 7th house natives fall into a serious relationship, contract, or other house related themes.  Even when they have interest in a relationship, they may not actively pursue progression of any potential partner.  They most likely won’t make effort to take anything to a serious level because wherever they are, is where they are happy to be — at all times.  Same goes for “divorce”.  You will equally find an empty 7th house native not actively being interested in divorce, once married.

How is an Empty House Read?

                  1.  We look at the sign on the cusp.

The cusp sign will tell us what the native needs, desires, and does to express house themes.  It’s something they tend to be “natural” at and therefore do not pay much attention to it.  This is often why the native of an empty 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, or 12th house can really take advantage of a vocational astrology consultation to give life to their career and job options.

                  2.  Which house is the natural sign ruler? What house contains that planet or luminary?

So if we have the 2nd house sign as Cancer and the Moon rules Cancer, the house theme is emotional and concerned about the past (for example).  Then find the Moon.  Which house does the Moon reside? Lets say it’s the 11th. That house is connected to the 2nd house.  It would then read as ruler of the 2nd is in the 11th.

The 2nd house is about values and money (amongst other things) and the 11th is about friends at a distance and organizations (amongst other things).  So having the ruler of the 2nd (House of Money) in the 11th (House of Friendships), we might say that our friends help us with money when we appeal to them in an emotional way.

                  3. What is aspecting the empty house?  Check house positions — cusp degrees, especially on the angles (Asc. IC Dsc. MC)

                  Synastry

Synastry between two people can activate an empty house of another.  So if one native (Person A) has Venus Leo in the 3rd and the other native (Person B) has Leo on the cusp of the 7th, Person A is essentially dropping their Venus into the empty house of Person B.   And what do you think this might cause?

One thing it might activate is a feeling of serious love for Person A when that person talks about everyday things or in an everyday manner, receives an email, phone call, or letter or during any short trips they might go on together.

Person B may become unusually interested in making more of a commitment to Person A than they normally would because of this “deposit” that has suddenly brought much wealth to Person B.

                  Donna Cunningham / Skywriter |

An empty house is one that is not occupied by any planets at the time of birth. But this does not necessarily mean that, that particular area of life represented by the house is unimportant. Lack of planets indicates an area that does not require our attention until some point of life when some transiting planets visit it. Empty houses also relate to easy or latent karma, suggesting that the area of life represented is not a required subject in the present lifetime. Many empty houses in a birth chart indicates that the person needs to concentrate just on one or two specific areas in life. Find Your Fate

                    About Astrology

Astrology (star study) looks at what celestial objects and points (Sun, Moon, Planets, Asteroids, Constellations, Zodiac Signs, etc) are doing and where they are positioned based on the the time of your birth or a specific time of an event (such as a marriage date, question about something, a move, weather conditions), etc.) and how that affects and influences Earth and its inhabitants.

                    About You

Your complete horoscope / various charts (i.e birth/natal and progressed) contain your personal fingerprints, DNA, blueprint. It is a private and unique documentation of your whole life from beginning to end, before (reincarnation) & beyond!

Often, clients want to know about what’s happening now or in the recent past or future. I do not currently predict death, illnesses, or accidents (I may be able to provide a referral on who can) and do not work with matters of the body such as health. My focus is on psychological / personality understanding about yourself and those you care about, your daily activities that better or worsen your emotional-mental life, and opportunities and challenges you have, are, or might face.

                    About Me

You may find a more knowledgeable astrologer; however, I feel my strengths are in delivering accurate, helpful interpretations and solutions that are uplifting, meaningful, accessible, and quick. I love what I do. I LOVE helping you.

                    About Different Astrological Practices

There are many regional kinds of astrology such as Western, Eastern, Chinese, Mayan, Native-American, Arabic, Celtic, etc.. as well as methods such as Traditional, Modern, Hellenistic, Uranian, and areas of practice such as psychological, locational, geological, and types of charts or rather analytical focus to draw up such as Natal, Synastry, Composite, Solar return (what I currently practice), Horary, Health, and Forensic.

I practice western modern astrology focused on your personality, psychology, transits and how that hinders or helps your life with yourself and those around you. To assist with this focus, I draw up natal (birth AND progressed), synastry, composite, and solar return charts.

Types of Chart Consultations I Currently do

                    • Natal & Progressed Chart Analysis (Based on your birth & growth): Personality & Psychology
                    • Personal Transits: Predictions and insight about what was, is, or will be.
                    • Compatibility (Synastry): What attracts and repels you to a person of interest and vice versa.
                    • Composite: What is or will be the purpose of your relationship or connection.
                    • Solar Return (Birthday Reading): What can you expect to happen this year in your life?

                    About Consultations

The bulk of an astrological session is interpreting your aspects (how celestial objects and points interact with each other) that provide solutions or answer your questions.

As you receive your consultation I may be heard saying any number of these terms.

                    Basic Astrology Terms

                    * Transits: How the luminaries and planets are reacting to your natal or progressed luminaries, planets, and points. There are personal and world transits.
                    * Planet: A celestial object that orbits around the Sun, is of a large enough size, doesn’t have other objects (other than a Moon/Moons) nearby, and is mostly (if not) round. Though this can be debated since Pluto and other ‘planets’ would no longer be classfied as a planet!  And for simplicity, many astrologers and everyday people will refer to the lights (Sun and Moon) as planets.  But they are not planets.
                    * Dwarf Planet: A celestial object that orbits around the Sun, a smaller size, has other objects (other than a Moon/Moons) nearby, and is mostly (if not) round. Though this can be debated.
                    * Asteroid: A celestial object that orbits around the Sun, is a smaller size, has other objects (other than a Moon/Moons) nearby, and is often not round.  Though this can be debated.
                    * Star: It’s a ball of hydrogen and helium that emanates light and burns energy.
                    * Zodiac Sign: Any one of the 12 signs of the zodiac (part of the animal belt). See below.
                    * Sun Sign: This is what many people think is their zodiac sign.  And it is one of the zodiac signs but to be accurate, your Sun sign is the sign that that was in at the time of your birth.
                    * Cusp: Is the point between two signs or houses.  A sign or house cusp is generally 5°.  So if you were born at 25° Leo, you would be on the cusp of Virgo as well.
                    * Degrees: There are 30° in each sign.  The zodiac wheel contains 360°, a complete circle and almost the same as the number of days in a year. Every ° means something and it could be viewed as similar to the weather, in that each degree gives us something different — a different feel, vibe, and information on how to ‘dress’.
                    * Aspects: I also like to call these ‘contacts’.  It’s when one planet contacts the other within a certain number of degrees or ‘orb’. See below what orb means.
                    * Chart: Your chart includes the zodiac wheel which is a visual representation of your planets, points, etc.  A symbolic chart of your aspects. Includes degrees and other interesting bits.
                    * Mercury Rx: When communication, thinking, electronics get muddled, confused, in need of repair. Also relates to the past and going over things.  Any word that starts with ‘re’ will get you in touch with this transit.  Repair, renew, reduce, recycle, etc..

In astrology, planets, luminaries, and asteroids have metaphysical and psychological properties.

The Gray Areas: Cusps in Astrology

                      What makes a cusp?

A cusp is on the edge.

“Mathematics A point at which a curve crosses itself and at which the two tangents to the curve coincide.”¹

“A transitional point or time, as between two astrological signs [or houses as in a house cusp].”¹

A cusp is the overlapping area between one zodiac star sign and another. Every year the start and end day of a sign can change.  The day a sign starts is often as early as the 18th and ends as late as the 24th of one month to another depending upon the month.  I consider the area on or near the day to be the cusp; however, some astrologers would say the cusp is only the first or last day of a sign, not days near it.

                      The cusp effect

I believe a cusp has an effect; however, some astrologers believe a cusp has no effect.  Librarising.com is one such astrologer that says a cusp has no effect and rather it’s the Mercury, Venus, or some other planet that causes one to sense that.  Sound thought, for sure!

However I am not often into looking at things in a black and white way since there’s no room for anything else.  I see a lot of Grey all over the place.  Therefore, I don’t believe much in the you are either one way or another.  I believe human beings are far too complex and generally freedom seeking to be forced to stay put in a cubby hole; we like to spread!

Natives who are born on a cusp, often demonstrate strong traits of the sign on the cusp of their zodiac sign.

So say you are a Capricorn and the first day of Capricorn the year you were born was December 19th, you would also demonstrate qualities of a Sagittarius and be considered born on the cusp.  If you were born on January 20 (the last day of Capricorn that year) and January 21 was considered the first day of Aquarius, you would be a Capricorn on the Aquarius cusp displaying more Aquarius traits as Capricorn is almost phased out.  Having said that, your traits will still be distinctly Capricorn as suits your needs.

There will also be a dual masculine / feminine nature to the native’s self-identification.

                      Difficulty guessing sign

When I have a hard time guessing someone’s sun sign it’s either because of a powerful Ascendant, Moon or they are on the cusp and therefore exhibiting a confused presence.  And perhaps that’s a good thing, especially for the Scorpio cusps. 😉

I believe in cusps not only for the sun sign but for every luminary, planet sign and house in a chart.

So 0 degree Venus in Leo would actually have a Cancer-Leo love nature with behaviours and traits fluctuating and changing depending upon mood and circumstance.  Therefore a 29 degree Venus in Leo would be close in temperament to a Virgo, exhibiting both Leo AND Virgo qualities.  The degrees (which are determined based on the day the sign moved into the planetary influence) is the reason for out-of-sign planetary aspect contacts by orb.  And this is why a 2 degree Aries Sun will not trine (by orb) a 25 degree Leo Sun in synastry.  Another example: 27 degree Aries Sun and a 1 degree Gemini Sun actually become Sun Conjunct Sun even though it’s out-of-sign.

Choosing one sign over the other

Some Sun cuspies have made a decision to be one sign or the other and then play up that sign. As with anything, the more one affirms something, the more likely it is to become true.  And this is one way to better ourselves such as channeling another sign’s attributes.

Synastry: Handling Venus Square Neptune (The Fantasy Romance)

                        Venus Square Neptune

To get a better understanding of a planet look to the attributes of the home and perhaps exalted sign/s it rules (and vice versa).

Venus rules Taurus and Libra although Venus is in the process of helping Libra find a new home.  Neptune rules Pisces.

Neptune & Venus can be very much compatible and live in harmony; however, it is still delicate. In fact Neptune is the higher octave of Venus!

To get a feel for how the Venus-Neptune aspect manifests itself, we take a look at the planetary home signs (as per above) as well as the contact type, in this case a Square.  The Square is similar to Saturn which rules Capricorn The sign Capricorn Squares Libra; however, it is in Sextile to Pisces and Trine Taurus. Libra is Inconjunct Pisces meaning they don’t understand each other very well or tend to ignore what the other is saying; however, Pisces Sextile Taurus and Capricorn.

Real problems happen when Venus expresses herself as Libra in the Venus-Neptune aspect by square, opposition, or inconjunct.

An intellectual and sometimes vain Libra Venus can not connect well with the illogical and accepting Neptune.  Many fights or square-off’s can be had when it does try. However, an instinctual Venus (Taurus) can handle an illogical Neptune (Pisces)!!…

“Don’t think it out, just go with your instincts”, “Lets be real”, or “Don’t let the emotions overcome you Pisces,” Taurus says. Taurus, unlike Libra, has a habit of longevity.  Taurus wants to mate for life and once they make a committment to love you, they will baring excessively bad things happening.  However, Libra can be fickle about making a decision in the first place and that is one reason limerance (being in love with love, infatuation, addictive love, etc.) can occur.

The Square wants to tell Neptune to keep itself in-check because it knows what havoc can be played out if it doesn’t. It tells young Neptune stories that Saturn went through to help it not make the same mistakes.  The Square contact with Venus-Neptune cautions Neptune in love (Venus).  Neptune says to Venus: My love for you is impractical. Impractical due to age, values, distance, finances, what’s right, commitment/s, etc… think Saturn in Libra. So what is it Neptune? Figure it out, even if it’s nebulous right now, and tell Venus. Maybe, together, you can figure out how to make your romance real.

                        The Lesson

The lesson of Venus Square Neptune is to take it slow, have discipline.  Love, being in-love, and first love feelings can be delicious; however, avoid taking the “connection” too seriously.   Everything must come from a higher solid and aesthetic stateAvoid getting wrapped up in the mystery of your love, affection, or admiration for each other because once reality sets in you may find it was just magic, an illusion an other or self-deception.  Take your time and get the facts first.  At the same time, be compassionate, delicate, and enjoy the dream (romance) while you are having it. But also consider that love has no barriers, no bounds, and you can move mountains for true love. What are you waiting for? What’s holding you back? Stop seducing Venus, and get on with it. Get through it. Get past it. or Get out!

                        Questions

                        1. Are you in a long-term relationship and have the Venus-Neptune challenge aspect/s?  What has been your experience with this aspect?  How have you overcome the challenge?
                        2. Are you interested in someone but you have the Venus-Neptune challenging aspect?  What problems have you experienced?  What are your fears?  How have you approached your connection?

Astrological Contact Types in Planetary Aspect (now including Sesquiquadrate)

In astrology there’s a contact type or energy that form between planets / luminaries (Sun, Moon) and all together this creates what is called an aspect.

When we first meet someone, an immediate first impression forms based on a gut reaction.  We notice something similar or different about them and we instantaneously decide if we like or dislike a person.  As an astrologer, I believe this is related to how aspects make up an individual, aspects that form between two people, aspects that transit each person (native) and the combined energy of those transits overall.  In psychological astrology, aspects make up the personality and how a personality is likely to interact with another personality.

When planets notice each other, they react in the same ways. That reaction can be harmonious,  challenging, or neutralizing.

Astrology has a way of looking at the small details and nuances that we often otherwise miss.  That’s one reason I love astrology.  It’s acts like DNA and each aspect is like a DNA strand.  Depending on level of expertise, an astrologer can tell us all about why we are attracted / repelled and the purpose of our relationships as well as our personal psychological make-up.

                          Conjunction

As if one. Has same energy.  Overpowering urge to merge. No distinction.  Inseparable. Like the Sun.  A

.Astrology3D has an interesting observation that I have had :  Basically, look to the signs of the planets to understand further how the planets interact and how they fit with that planet or not.   And this is something I haven’t thought of yet: A planet strongly compatible to the sign of conjunction can dominate the energies of the other planet.  THIS is an awesome understanding, awareness, observation.  Why?  Because in the case of a Venus – Mars conjunction, for example, we can tell whether Venus or Mars is calling the shots.  Whether the conjunction will be more on the loving or sexy side. 🙂

Synastry Conjunction Example: Moon conjunct Moon aspect would lead to the couple being able to project emotions onto each other, be telepathic, etc. If the Moon is in Cancer or Virgo, the conjunction is likely to be nurturing and psychic.   If the conjunction is in Capricorn it is likely to be difficult, feeding off the insecurities and the sense of feeling exposed.  There’s still much to learn from ALL aspects but in the case of this conjunction, it really can put one in touch with their feelings once and for all.

                          Opposition

180º A clash of wills.  A wall between.  Blind-spots. Impatient. Complementary.  Polarity. Two sides to the story. Like oil & water.  A natural inclination to separate. A separation. Attraction vs. Repulsion. Push vs Pull.  Back & Forth. Same goals but with different ways of expressing them. Think Square Opposing Square. Like MarsWizardsNet says complementary, balancing, strong tendency to project the polarity of one side on another.  Astrology3D says an opposition causes an awareness.

                          Trine

120º At ease with other.  Just there. Lazy. Protected. Can be boring. Friendly. Lucky. Like Jupiter. WizardsNet adds grace, good fortune.  Astrology3D says getting benefits without effort.  Lack of challenge. A Wikipedia article mentions the Trine indicates natural talent and inspiration as other key qualities.  And because a Trine causes no desire to work for something, too many trines in a chart can spell inertia.  So while it’s often said too many squares is bad, the opposite is actually true as long as the stress of the square causes the desire to reach the heights of a Trine.

                          Sextile

60º Stimulating. Understanding. Fascination. Opportunity. Requires action to experience benefits. Like Venus.

                          Semi-Sextile

30º Vacillates between sextile & inconjunct.  On & off but more on. Flashes.  Separate yet related. Like Neptune.   WizardsNet says mild, variable influence, similar to sextile.

Inconjunct also known as / Quincunx

150º Difference. Missed connection. Hearing something loud and clear but not sure where coming from. Ignoring.  Blind-spots. Turning away. Like clairaudience (a whisper that’s hard to hear). An itch that can’t be scratched (ref – M.Gelder.) Unsettling. Uncomfortable Rumours. Like UranusWizardsNet says Paradox, riddle, destiny, need for adjustment.

                          Square

90º Challenged, blocked, tension, discomfort, conflict, needed adjustments, stubborn, irregular, hang-up, restrain, restrict, shut-off, obstruct, thwart, pressure, stress, struggle.  Like Saturn. WizardsNet adds crisis, difficult to integrate. Astrology3D says struggle of two forces at cross-purposes.  Obstacles which can bring growth through concentrated effort. A Wikipedia article offers other keywords:  inhibitions, disruption, limitations, and inner conflict.

                          Semi-Square

45º Vacillates between square and inconjunct (between Saturn & Uranus).  Digs. Can see both sides.  Off & on.  More off than on.  Flashes. Separate yet related. Like Pluto.

                          Sesquiquadrate

135º Contains smaller versions of the Square & Semi-Square both of which fit inside a full-size square.  Add 45º to the Sesquiquadrate and you arrive at the Opposition aspect (see Astrological Aspects article).  The Sesquiquadrate is not as offensive as the Opposition; however, it has a similar “disconnection” within the realm of Square types (see below) :).

A Sesquiquadrate acts like a “square against semi-square”, Might against mini-might, that dilutes both energies.  A smaller semi-square is trying to obtain relief from the smaller square but wants to get there on its own too.  There’s a feeling of some common ground but it’s uncertain, and unsure as if it’s infantile since the Square and Semi-square types are full sized (grown).

The semi-square wants inside or maybe it’s trying to escape but can’t quite make it.  It needs some help to fully complete tests so it may mature but there’s something holding it back.  Mature outside support is needed whether it’s accepted or not.  The Sesquiquadrate works best with another to resolve / combat problems to make up for the difference in size (maturity) or it needs much time to pass so it evolves on its own.

The Sesquiquadrate is like a disability (different ability) and another aspect could be used as a crutch (resource) to solve the question (problem) or perhaps with the aid of a specialist can be armed to handle the challenges that a Sesquiquadrate presents.  It’s a special challenge.

                          I also get a Saturn-Uranus type feel from it. A parent-teenager push/pull influence.

So we can get that feeling of wanting to break away and do our own thing but having to face the consequences of our parents thinking we are doing something that isn’t realistic, smart, or responsible.  And that supports what Alice Portman says in her article about Thor’s Hammer “Sesiquadrates give criticism from others” .

Now, I also see that the symbol can look like the back of a monitor with stand.  What would that mean?

I call minor aspects SHADOW Aspects and major aspects COMMON or POPULAR aspects. ©

Shadow aspects are often Hidden, something that just happens rather than something that you may be conscious of; however, those that are very observant can see it clearly in others.  And the shadow aspects can be on & off, not consistent, which may cause people to overlook it. Humans LOVE consistency (maybe not in self but in others for sure), am I right? lol

Finer is not minor!!  Finer pinpoints areas that may have been overlooked or underdeveloped and given the chance to be nurtured would possibly result in FAME!

                          Quintile

72º Similar to a conjunction but creatively or oddly different. Natural born talent that needs to be recognized and nurtured.  Inspired. A quintile can indiciate the native receives acclaim either for criminal or seedy behaviour OR divine inspiration.  Like a Sun-URANUS aspect. WizardsNet says artistry, special talents and gifts, change

                          Bi-Quintile

144º Similar to an inconjunct but creatively or oddly different.  Dreamstate. Off and on. Odd or different ways of handling things. Not consistent. Like a Sun-Neptune aspect and Uranian.

Synastry & Natal: The Divorce Aspect – Venus Square Uranus in LOVE – Problem & Solution

                            Venus Square Uranus

Venus Square Uranus is an astrological aspect that  can show in a natal birth chart or it can be a combined energy that occurs between the native and someone else. This aspect is a hot and cold one in that there’s a lot of excitement and heat that can get generated instantaneously (love-at-first-sight) about something or someone but just as quickly and intensely a cold, staleness can set in making the native or pair want to either high-tail it out of a situation or cause some commotion to bring the fire and passion back in.  So if the native or pair has Venus Square Uranus in their chart, “never a dull moment” is their motto.

Venus square Uranus in Synastry Generally a relationship with this aspect between the partners has lots of excitement but little stability. You may get together in a sudden, whirlwind romance and break with each other just as quickly, unless there are other stabilizing aspects between you. The Uranus person may feel the Venus person is too clingy and emotional; the Venus person may find the Uranus person erratic, unreliable and – perhaps – a touch too eccentric or kinky. Awakening Astrology

Venus square Uranus in Natal Left-T (a Libra) from Yahoo Answers says: “This aspect always affects, one way or another, separations or problems in love affairs and relationships. This aspect brings much confusion between love [Venus] and friendship [Uranus]. You may win friends easily but you aren’t committed to them, except socially or superficially. Love, however, is more difficult, because of the demands involved and the limitations on your freedom.”

Venus rules Taurus and Libra, in different ways, and Uranus rules Aquarius.  When connected to Taurean energy there’s a natural square (Saturnian energy) between these two planets yet when Uranus (ruling Aquarius) is connected with Venus’ Libra (trine) it can get along quite well.  This means that Venus Square Uranus can be a rewarding or challenging energy but likely, given Libra is mostly a guest of Venus and has a bit of a push-pull don’t upset the apple cart with the naked truth nature already, this aspect tends to be experienced as a challenge overall — kind of like riding a bull in a crowded bar with a whole bunch of hot and sweaty lovers-to-be. Taurus’ Venus prefers her lover to be steady and sure… a warm fireplace with some fine wine after dinner but Uranus is a bit of a rocker and he’s right at home with a BBQ, burger, and beer.

                            The Venus Square Uranus Solution

                            Natal

My solution for the natal manifestation of this aspect is for the native to be aware of the need for excitement and speed and to learn how to slow down and savour that yummy bit of dark chocolate, to appreciate every bit of it, and to know that it’s going to taste just as good if not more so the next time the native gets to enjoy it.  To also be sure to alert others of antsy feelings and to offer up solutions to spice up a relationship.  Or perhaps just enjoy dating or unconventional love arrangements like you would a guilt-free dessert – it’s okay, really. The native with Venus square Uranus also has the uncanny ability to tell if love, ahead, will work out in a conventional way and therefore they might suddenly end a relationship before it has ran its course because they know it won’t work out down the road in the ideal way that is visioned and they don’t want to deal with heart-break later on.  However, consider, that most relationships are not forever and more, to enjoy every moment with the one you love now, an unconventional relationship is not a bad thing, and as long as you invested emotions and have other ties heart-break will happen anyway.  Square aspects ask you to keep it real

                            .

                            Synastry

Synastry-wise, if a couple gets their relationship off the ground and into something traditional looking, ideally they will give each other a lot of space, freedom with date nights and weekend get-a-aways that engage other people (friends, strangers, etc.).  This aspect also works well with couples who are away from each other due to work but where one of them is the anchor (stay-at-home) i.e. a sales person or executive and stay-at-home mom or dad, a truck driver and an artist, an emergency room doctor and a 9-5’er, a retiree and a PH.D. student (of age, of course ;).  In other words there’s a reason for the distance and the distance is present at the start of the relationship. Now lets take a step back… remember sweet Libra rooming with Taurus at Venus’ place?  Well, Venus’ Libra naturally wants to soak up, ingest, and absorb everything Uranus has to offer until there’s nothing left.  That’s how this aspect can be rewarding if a) both parties or the native understand there can very well be a shelf-life to the relationship to make room for the next best thing and that’s welcome or b) the couple /native ensures that the relationship or love life stays exciting, interesting, and fresh so it never comes to a feeling or sense of “nothing left”. Finally acceptance and freedom are key working concepts when loving and being loved with the Venus Square Uranus energy.  Therefore, ensuring there’s a feeling of safety and security, before and during the inevitable distancing happens, is essential for emotional happiness and staving off jealousy and possessiveness should one of the lovers not be of a Uranian disposition natally.

Am I doomed if I / we have Venus Square Uranus?

While Venus Square Uranus in synastry is known as The Divorce Aspect for a reason, keep in mind or know that there are other aspects in a chart that can alleviate or neutralize its effect.  Then again there are other aspects that can further weaken this challenging aspect too.  Also there are reasons for this aspect existing in the first place and it’s just a test.  You are meant to jump the hurdle successfully and reap the fruits of your labour.  It’s just that you need to want it and to work for it.  But if you have always sucked at studying and failed tests because of that, this aspect isn’t going to be kind to you. Love is challenged by twists and turns.  Sudden breaks in love are upsetting. A “let’s get it on nature” is hampered by a “let’s take our time” response then vice versa. The desire for affection is conflicted by a need for distance.  Shocking separations block happiness.  The masculine principle thwarts the feminine.  Long distance love affairs.  Love found through technology. Sudden awareness of love that will go wrong. Twists & turns test co-operation. Future love knowledge restricts relationship. Relationship feels unstable.  Thinking the grass is greener on the other side. Changing lovers. Sudden disconnection of contact causes tension. A two-timer. Swingers. On & off relationships.

Mercury in Aspect: Communication Quality, Rewards, and Headaches

Some Mercury Facts: Masculine, mutable, dignity/ home in Gemini. Home in Virgo (I say, “more like an honoured guest”), exalted in Aquarius, Sagittarius in detriment, and Fall in Pisces.

With the philosophy of “no better or worse, just different” as well as not keeping signs in mind, I reflected upon Mercury’s interactions with other planets and itself:

Synastry: The Fairytale Aspect – Venus Square Neptune

Astrologers around the world often say that one of the worst “red flag” aspects two people can have in a romantic synastry comparison is Venus Square Neptune. If you and your person of interest has this in your synastry chart are you going to choose to agree or disagree with this thought?

First, lets get a feel for what this aspect configuration says in a simplified way:

Venus –> Love, affection, art, balance, sensuality, beauty, softness, receptivity, femininity, passivity, happiness, peace, contentment, nature, earthly pleasures, idealizing, brown & pink, tradition, co-operation, indulgence, service, devoted, the muse, kindness, compassion
Square –> Challenged, blocked, tension, discomfort, conflict, needed adjustments, stubborn, irregular, hang-up, restrain, restrict, shut-off, obstruct, thwart, pressure, stress, struggle
Neptune –> Dreams, illusions, stupors, letting go, dissolution, disillusionment, disappointment, cheating, idealizing, metaphysical, drunken, magic, thirsty, salt water, spiritual, quietness, enchanting, retreat, spas, trance, chaos, craziness, smoke & mirrors, glamorizing, subconscious, intangible, temptation, sacrifice, martyr, suffering, confusion, emotions, delusions, insincerity, hypnotic, boundless, altered reality, photographic, filmography, subversions, devotion, psychic, fantasy, deception, ghosts, visions, visionary, abstraction, secrets, the hidden, invisible, anesthetics, sponging, abuse, the psyche, alcohol, drugs, running away, disorder, silence, intoxication, unemployment, giving, steamy, blue & green, indulgence, gas, fog, merging, mystery, veil, the divine, addictions, neuroses, drowning, betrayal, evasion, helpless, acceptance, higher states of consciousness, Kundalini, escapism, vulnerability, weakness, transcendence, inspiration, imagination, the muse, hallucination, sleepiness, mysticism, secret society, subtlety, mystical creatures, otherworldly, artistry, acting, make-believe, poison, fakery, colour

Note: Venus rules Libra and Taurus.  Neptune rules Pisces.  To get a better understanding of a planet (and vice versa) look to the attributes of the sign. Also Neptune (who is physically larger than the planet Venus) can be seen as a much lighter version of Pluto and more “internal” or “introverted” or a higher vibration of Venus.
As we know, anything can be spun for or against. So lets spin this aspect negatively and then positively.

                                Against

                                Fake love

Libra Venus Activated (inconjunct to Pisces)… The Fake Love. The love that is had is not real or is unreal and this causes a tension or yearning and wanting to know if the feeling is truth or fiction.

Do you feel the same? (Do you even need to ask if the feelings are reciprocal, clear, and real??)

A lot of confusing or misty things are said and done (sometimes on purpose) and there’s a look of interest when in fact the object of affection just came off the set of a film noir and must of forget they were no longer in role.  What causes Neptune to create such a hurtful illusion? Why does Venus see something that Neptune does not? Because Neptune is the Puppet Master while Venus is the Puppet.  Didn’t think soft Neptune was capable of such manipulation? Think again. It’s the dark side of Neptune. Illusions are created and these illusions cause one to feel a sense of euphoria while the fantasy is being enacted by both audience member (Puppet) and performer (Puppeteer).  Flaws and things not to be seen are often hidden by make-up, lighting, illusion, etc..

You and I are the (superficial) ideal romantic leads, don’t you know? Isn’t it perfect??

And then there’s the feeling of getting drunk, being addicted to a drug, and finally being in a stupor — unable to concentrate on worldly matters — becoming the standard preference.  But it doesn’t feel right and in fact it feels downright unhealthy and destructive as things that were once exciting and enjoyable become drab and unimportant in comparison to the web of fantasy weaved.

Fin as in finished is often what is seen at the end of such movies of fantasy.  Will there be a happy ending between the Knight and his damsel in distress or the Queen and her servant?

                                For

                                Spiritual love

Taurus Venus Activated (sextile to Pisces)… The Grounded Love. The love had is real; however, it is beyond the scope of a normal love relationship and therefore defies description. In fact due to the lack of definition, any physical manifestation of the feelings of spiritual love shared between the couple are most often only expressed between the couple because there is no way to explain it to the outside world. The connection is magical in so far as it inspires the feeling of fatedness, eternal and timeless bonds.  It’s a perfect fit that either love more than likely has not felt before or has felt infrequently. The otherworldly feeling is often uncomfortable, it’s foreign after-all, and a desired solid footing is sought but hard to get. In fact this couple could be said to feel as if they were drifting in and around the divine heavens.  This uncomfortable spiritual love is between heavenly and earthly experience.

If both parties understand what is, is not, and want to enjoy a higher Aquarian form of relating, this can be a most exquisite connection between two enlightened souls.  To enjoy spiritual love, clarity and consciousness of what is happening is important.  There can not be any misty, muddled things said and done otherwise a disclaimer ought to be tagged along with it. It’s your love remember.  Don’t hurt Venus with lies for she will be hurt enough with the truth.  And in due time she will heal from that and Venus will strengthen and overcome the tests that Neptune constantly give.

A clear purpose can be defined, self-control enacted, a safe haven created, and an openness for each person to love others (unconditional love) because that’s more than probable if other aspects in the chart comparison or natals do not favour monogamy. Flaws are to be unearthed and spoken of with raw honesty sparing no hurt feelings.  Arriving to the destination more quickly ensures that the couple doesn’t fall asleep at the wheel. So part the fog — the veil — to reveal the true love (the divine ideal) that can and does exist between you. Do not allow a temporary ideal fantasy or romance cloud the perfect and ever-lasting love to be had.

                                Conclusion

Venus Square Neptune is hard for most to transmute into a positive experience.  The power and pull of Neptune is so great with society and Neptune causing a challenge for this love to be expressed in a higher setting.

Fake love is aroused by an addiction to love. With Venus Square Neptune, playing things up to get more and more of a high or to get a high back is the game.  Many are able to overcome this addiction and grow into grounded and inspired love; however, the potential for falling off the wagon (so-to-speak) is always present. Therefore, it’s important to watch for that and keep the lines of communication open. Face the truth, head-on.

If there is enough positive aspects in your synastry you may want to choose to work very hard at lessening or transmuting the damaging effects of this aspect. Otherwise, the old sage advice given is: Run, don’t walk. Close that door and don’t look back. The Venus Square Neptune aspect in synastry is NOT for the faint of heart, mind, body, or soul; however, it doesn’t have to be the kiss of death either. Having said that, if there’s not an interest or an ability to work hard at seeing through or divinely touching the other side of the veil and there isn’t enough positive, healing, and easily enjoyable aspects to soften the hard challenge of this aspect, don’t bother.  Seriously.

And if you are already in such a relationship or have been pulled into an abyss with a one-sided love but don’t know what to do, I’m glad to be of professional service to help you through the murky waters of love.
